The second method is to create an instance in your UpCloud account and then configure it as a UTunnel VPN server by following a few simple steps.

Just sign up with us and select UpCloud as your cloud provider, select your instance type and location. No UpCloud account is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Creating and managing your UpCloud VPN server is quite easy with UTunnel VPN. Once your VPN server is set up, you will be able to view all your server stats and manage all aspects of your server and its configuration via UTunnel’s easy-to-use web dashboard. Some configuration changes might need a manual server restart if you choose the BYOS deployment option to set up your UpCloud VPN. You can easily do it by running a single command on your UpCloud server via SSH.
It is essential to ensure that business data is always encrypted and protected while being transferred over the Internet. When you set up your UTunnel VPN Server in UpCloud, it makes sure your data is always protected with encryption. UTunnel VPN supports highly secure 256-bit encryption with OpenVPN and IKEv2 protocols.
Businesses often require secure access to private resources like ERP, CRM, HRMS systems, and other business applications. Such systems might already have password protection, but keeping such internal IT applications and servers accessible across the open internet is very risky. Once you set up your Virtual Private Network in UpCloud, you can whitelist the VPN IP address in these systems and restrict access to them only via the VPN. This adds an additional layer of security to your resources.
If you want to manage teams or user groups on your UpCloud VPN Server, you should sign up with a business account while creating your UTunnel account. The business account offers the ability to manage user groups and selectively grant access to VPN servers to specific groups. You can easily set up single sign-on integration with a provider of your choice, which will make user management even easier.
Yes, you can easily set up a site-to-site VPN tunnel between your UpCloud VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) and any remote endpoint that supports IPSEC IKEV2 protocol. All site-to-site tunnel properties can be easily configured from the UTunnel web dashboard. Also, you need to add some custom routes on your UpCloud VPC servers to send traffic to the remote encryption domain (the range of IP addresses of the hosts which will be participating in the encrypted VPN), through the UTunnel server. But don't worry, our support engineers are ready to assist you with setting up the site-to-site tunnel.
